The subject is zoomed into and the strobes and gels are not behind the subject. The strobes and gels are in the front hitting the subject. They use more than one gel. I think the strobe and gels were place at an angle to hit the subjects face and make the red and blue mixture. The subject is not paying attention making the photo more interesting.
